All the drugs which SERVIER introduces stem from its own research.
This is uncommon for a pharmaceutical company. SERVIER aims to develop innovative and novel drugs which address major public health problems and provide objective therapeutic benefit.
The main lines pursued by SERVIER Research are in:

- Central nervous system and psychiatry
- Oncology
- Diabetes and metabolism
- Rheumatology
78 new R&D projects are in progress in these therapeutic areas.

In 2006
Cardiovascular Disease Marketing authorisation obtained in Australia for Coralan, a novel bradycardic agent for the treatment of angina .
In 2007
Osteoporosis Protos, Servier's treatment for post menopausal osteoporosis was approved for PBS listing April 2007.
